Sustainable events

One of Lakewood's core values is local, organic and fair trade food, along with being a venue of choice with regards to sustainable and green events.

Holt Farms Ltd, our parent group is passionate about the local enviornment and even employ our own conservation team.

Along with the facilities at Lakewood itself, we also have our own Carbon Neutral Facility of Wills Eco Barn, which is powered by off grid solar panels, along with a rain water collection system and state of the art Bio Fuel Central Heating System.

Wills Barn is also situated within our organic farmland and has its own ancient woodland, which delegates can utlise for outdoor events or team building events.

Lakewood is also having a Bio Fuel Central Heating system being installed in 2009, where we will be supplying our own Bio Fuel which we are growing on our farms here within the Mendips.

Lakewood has been recognised in 2009 with regards to its work to sustainable events, and is one of the first venues in the country outside of London to work towards the new BS8901 Sustainable Events accreditation which was introduced into the industry following London winning the 2012 Olympics.
